The Road to Batemans Bay

Researched and written by Long Beach local, Professor Alastair Greig, The Road to Batemans Bay is the story of competing ventures to create ‘the Great Southern Township’ on the South Coast of New South Wales in the early 1840s.

Professor Greig is now researching material for his new book on the post-war era of Long Beach. If you have any photos or anecdotes you would like to submit, please email them through and we'll get them to Professor Greig and his research assistants. Make sure you tell us the approximate date, the people, and location in the photo or any other aspects. We'll share some of the photos we get here, however the inclusion in Professor Greig’s book will be at his discretion.
